Our aim is to create a skilled and flexible pharmacy workforce operating in multi-professional clinical teams delivering safe and sustainable.
The Midlands school of pharmacy will be collaborative, innovative to support the NHS Long Term Plan aspirations for pharmacy practice.
Our aim is to deliver NHSE’s mandate to equip the current and future pharmacy workforce with the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours at the right time and in the right place to meet patient need.
Since August 2022, we have delivered a pharmacist foundation trainee programme. This programme is designed to increase inclusion and diversity in foundation education by maximising the use of technology with dedicated educators and peer networks in our new Integrated Care Systems.
We will continue supporting people to access the pharmacy technician apprenticeship programme to train to work in multi professional teams in community pharmacy, hospitals, prisons and GP surgeries.
Leadership in pharmacy is essential to support happy, healthy pharmacy teams improving care for patients. We aim to support collaboration, collective leadership and shared learning within and across organisations in the Midlands to improve medicines optimisation and medicines value.

The Framework exists as a tool to help NHSE remain focused on what matters and better understand what it can, and should, do to support the diversity and inclusion agenda; whilst it delivers upon its prime role of workforce planning in the healthcare system.
The Framework is aligned to our existing national and corporate objectives, priorities and values as well as the principles set out in the NHS Constitution.
