Welcome Message from the Associate Dean - Jennie Ross

The dental workforce development team at WT&E Midlands are currently working hard to put together a programme of training and learning opportunities across the region for all members of the dental team.

One of the new exciting developments is the launch of our new virtual learning environment where you can easily see all the courses available for booking via accent and access profession specific areas to easily see what's available to you to enhance your skills. Soon, there will be instant access CPD available that we hope you can use within your teams. Please register now by completing this form, or using the QR code below.

Any enquiries email us we would love to hear from you and how we can assist you in furthering your career.

Registering on Accent

To book CPD provided by WT&E in the Midlands you need to register on accent course manager. For further details on how to register and book courses on accent see this how to guide.

Any member of the dental team can use the system. Initially you will need to register as a delegate before you can access any of the courses. Registration is straightforward and achieved by following the instructions on screen or by using the delegate guide below.

When you are registering you will need to select whether you are a clinician or not and then a delegate type. At the current time we have 4 delegate types already created (we are aware that they are not all accurate descriptions and are currently reviewing these) Clinician – Consultant Clinician – Dentist Non Clinician – GDC Registered Non Clinician – Non GDC Registered.

Online Evaluations and Certificates

Online Evaluations and Certificates

Following attendance at any of the Dental DWD Courses held within WT&E delegates will be asked to provide feedback. This is completed online through the personal login details under ‘My Course Evaluations’. Receiving constructive evaluations for courses that have been attended in the region helps not only the speakers delivering the courses that they are providing good quality information but also provides WT&E with vital information regarding the courses as a whole. However, feedback must be given within the specific deadline for each course; this is normally 28 days but delegates should check for each course they attend. A Certificate of Attendance will not be issued if an evaluation is not received before the deadline expires. Once the online evaluation has been completed delegates can then access their Certificate of Attendance and download for keeping in their professional portfolio.

All courses that are currently available are live on the Accent Course Manager system and can be found using the search facility within the system.

For further information on how to complete online evaulations on accent see this guide.

Recording your CPD

Recording your CPD

The GDC website provides templates for a personal development plan and recording your CPD.

It also contains a link to a mapping document that you can use to gain verifiable CPD when it is not provided from the course provider, for example if you undertake training devised for the wider healthcare team. You will need to map it against GDC learning outcomes and get confirmation from the training provider that the information is correct.
