Guidance to educators on making Occupational Health referals

Doctors and Dentists in training may be referred to Occuptional Health via two routes: either their own local Trust OH service or via the PSW OH referral service.

The PSW service work with specialist Occupational Health consultants and their assessment will not only look at fitness to be at work but also consider the biopsycho-social factors impacting the doctor or dentist in training (PGDiT) and will provide guidance on any temporary reasonable adjustments that may assist the PGDiT whilst they are experiencing a period of disruption to their training.

The below guidance and templates aims to assist educators with considerations relating to OH referrals.
